Mill Falls has been fortunate to receive federal funds during this difficult COVID time. These funds have helped to offset the unexpected costs that we have incurred as a result of COVID. Each round of funding has a very specific set of guidelines and reporting requirements.

As previously shared, Mill Falls is applying for Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III Funds – Federal COVID-related dollars – in support of our safe reopening to in-person instruction and continuity of services during COVID. Part of the requirements include the creation and submission in the last spring of 2021 of an opening plan for the 2021/22 School Year.

Mill Falls’ ESSER-required opening plan – developed in part to satisfy federal COVID related grant requirements, and also to communicate with the Mill Falls Community the expectations for the coming school year – was developed by the Mill Falls School Administration in partnership with the Manchester Health Department and with input from all Mill Falls stakeholders and reflects our understanding at this time. This plan is being shared with our school community now and will be followed by a more expansive plan in August.

Over the last 15 months, we have experienced so much together as a school community. We have faced the challenges which COVID has presented with tenacity, grit, creativity, empathy and courage. We are proud of everything that we have achieved together during this difficult COVID period. We look forward with great enthusiasm to a return to structures that are more familiar to our students, staff, and families in the 2021/22 School Year.

Mill Falls Charter School will resume full-time / in-person learning for all students on September 2, 2021. From our experience this year, we recognize that in-person learning is the best way to provide our public Montessori program and thus to meet the educational and social/emotional needs and well-being of our students and staff.

As we look to the 2021-2022 school year, we continue our commitment to a safe and meaningful opening of school that aligns with CDC, state and local health guidelines and recommendations.
