Integrated Arts: Fitness Instructor

Mill Falls Charter School is seeking a Fitness Instructor for our Integrated Arts Program. Applicants must possess a high level of professionalism and creativity in their approach to the work with elementary students (grades 1-6) in this public Montessori school setting. Preference will be given to those with previous teaching/coaching experience.

Position Type: Part-time, 7 hours, one day per week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in Fitness and Health.
  • Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong Group Management skills, Experience in Curriculum Development.
  • Comfort in working in a public Montessori environment.
  • Ability to work within our mixed-age classroom model
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Appreciation for students with learning differences as well as for students from diverse family and socio-economic situations.
  • An open-mind and sense of humor.

Public Montessori Assistant Teachers

Lower Elementary (mixed age classrooms, grades 1-3)
Upper Elementary (mixed age classrooms, grades 4-6)

Mill Falls Charter School is seeking Assistant Teachers for the 2018/19 School Year who support the work of the Lead Teacher by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of our public Montessori school’s learning environment. Working in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for the academic, personal and social achievement, safety and physical well being of the children under her/his supervision. Assistant Teachers must possess a high level of professionalism and desire to expand one’s abilities in the education field.

Position Type: Full-time, 7.25 hours per day

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;

Paraprofessionals

Mill Falls Charter School is seeking Paraprofessionals for the 2018/19 school year. The majority of assignments include assisting students with disabilities and assisting in self-care of students. Under general supervision, the Paraprofessional assists Classroom Teachers, Program Coordinators, and Specialists in completing instructional and clerical duties and assignments involving students with mental, emotional, or multiple challenges. The Paraprofessional performs instructional assignments with minimum supervision in comprehension and reinforcement skills, emotional, physical, developmental, language, reading, math, and related skills. The Paraprofessional assists in preparing and developing basic teaching materials, instructional aids, and other support materials.

Requirements:
 Completion of two years of study (48 credits) at an institution of higher education or an Associates Degree or higher.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with children and adolescents in an educational setting;
  • Must have ability to instruct students in mathematics, reading, science, social studies, art, and/or related subjects;
  • Must be able to physically manage students, kneel, sit on floor, lift up to 40 pounds, and provide personal care;
  • Must possess knowledge of educational and instructional techniques.

Substitute Teachers

Mill Falls Charter School is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2018/19 school year. The majority of assignments include filling in for paraprofessionals and/or Assistant Teachers intermittently throughout the school year. Our Paraprofessionals assist students with disabilities and assist our the students’ Classroom Teachers, Program Coordinators, and Specialists in completing instructional and clerical duties and assignments involving students with mental, emotional, or multiple challenges. Our Assistant Teachers work in collaboration with our Lead Teachers,  and are responsible for the academic, personal and social achievement, safety and physical well being of the children under her/his supervision.

ABOUT US:

Mill Falls Charter School is the first public Montessori Charter School in New Hampshire. The School opened in Manchester in the fall of 2012. Mill Falls provides a full elementary program, serving 168 students in grades K-6.
