Our History
In September 2010, ten parents, came together to create Mill Falls Charter School — a free, diverse and public school that merges the Montessori method with the Common Core Curriculum. With the NH Board of Education’s approval of the charter application in March 2011, Mill Falls Charter School joined the small group of pilot charter schools in the state at that time, and became the first public Montessori in NH. After our charter approval, the founding parents were joined by committed community members to serve on the School’s Board of Trustees as well as the Mill Falls Charter School Foundation. In 2017, the school was granted its second 5-year charter from the NH Board of Education.
Our Pledge
We are dedicated to building a school that welcomes and celebrates diversity of all kinds. Mill Falls seeks to provide an educational environment where our students progress toward independence, self-motivation and self-confidence as they strive to become well-rounded, engaged and curious learners.
Our Location
Mill Falls is located at 100 William Loeb Drive, just off of Holt Avenue in Manchester, NH. The location offers a safe, secure and green school site, easily accessible from I-93.
Our Structure
Like all NH state-issued charter schools, Mill Falls has its own Board of Trustees and is responsible for its own budget, as well as hiring the teaching and support staff. The school’s Board of Trustees is made up of parent and community members as well as a non-voting Executive Director and Educational Program Director.
In addition, to support our vibrant programming and ensure the school’s long-term sustainability, we have established a non-profit foundation, the Mill Falls Charter School Foundation, to sit beside the school. It is singularly purposed to raise funds for the school in support of its needs and goals.
Please see the School Board page for biographical information about the Mill Falls Charter School Board and Founders. Information about the Foundation members can be found on the Mill Falls Charter School Foundation page.
