Fun, Run, & Service…
The last week has been filled with wonderful community activities that brought us together in celebration of peace, fun and service. Please take a moment to reflect on what we’ve done together as shared below, and to stay up to date on school happenings!
While our staff and students celebrated International Peace Day last Friday, Shannon, Laura W, (Math) Colleen and Meryl were in Boston at a Montessori Coaching Workshop led by Elizabeth Slade, a nationally respected and beloved Montessorian working now with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS). The workshop explored the Montessori Coaching Model, which supports our staff and students in our public Montessori setting. In the words of NCMPS, “Coaching brings a belief in limitless human potential to the organizational level of the school, helping adults partner and prepare through systems for stability, cohesion and coherence.” Attending this workshop is part of the 15 month project we have undertaken with Elizabeth, to further grow and inform our public Montessori Programming. This work, which began last fall, is being paid for through Title Funds managed by the NH DOE.

On Tuesday, we held our annual All-School Service Trip to the NH Food Bank where our students and staff packed Mac ‘n Cheese Dinners for food insecure families across our state. The Food Bank staff welcomed us with open arms, and helped get us set up to pack the meals. Before the trip, our community discussed basic human needs in age appropriate ways to prepare for the work at hand. Our student teams packed 14 boxes in total, which equals approximately 3,024 meals! We are so proud of them!
