Welcome Back!
These words reveal the child’s inner needs; ‘Help me to do it alone’.
~ Dr. Maria Montessori
It was seven years ago when we opened the doors to NH’s first public Montessori School. Wow does time fly! In September 2012, many of our current 6th year students arrived as Kinders. In the years since, they have been joined by others who have now made their way through our Lower Elementary Program and this week began their final, cap year in our Upper Elementary Program. They will be our 4th cohort of graduating students when this year comes to a close.

But wait…This week is really all about celebrating the beginning of this new school year! And that celebration has been in full swing since late August. On August 28th, we welcomed our youngest students to Kinder Camp – the first official day of school for the Yosemite Room. On the 29th, we joined together as a whole-school community for our Annual Popsicle Party – greeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. After a beautiful Labor Day weekend, we regrouped this Tuesday – the first official day of school for our 1st-6th year students.

For those of you who are new to Mill Falls, each Friday this newsletter – the Mill Falls News – is sent out via email. We use this as our key form of school-to-home information sharing about our programming and school happenings. The newsletter has important links to documents, key dates, information about Montessori, and features photographs from the week.

Thanks to so many of you who have sent in classroom supplies, flowers and even some treats for staff. Your generosity and kindness has helped make our first week a wonderful one!
