Public Montessori Assistant Teachers:
Lower Elementary (grades 1-3) & Upper Elementary (grades 4-6) 

Mill Falls is seeking Assistant Teachers who support the work of the Classroom/Lead Montessori Teacher by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of our public Montessori school’s learning environment. Working in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for the academic, personal and social achievement, safety and physical well-being of the children under her/his supervision. Assistant Teachers must possess a high level of professionalism and desire to expand one’s abilities in the education field.

Position Type: 7.25 hours per day.

Special Education Teacher, grades K-6

Mill Falls is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work in our public Montessori classroom environment with educationally and behaviorally challenged students. The Special Education teacher will create a program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for our students with disabilities, enabling those students to benefit from our general education Montessori curriculum to the greatest extent possible.

Responsibilities include: instruction to assigned students by implementing IEPs; preparation of academic materials for students following approved curricula; special education case management including collaboration in preparation of IEPs, reports, assessment, and participating team meetings.
Position Type: full-time (possible part time also available)

Student Services Coordinator

Mill Falls is seeking a Special Education certified teacher skilled at organizing all aspects of student support and services. This part-time position will include case management and student advocacy at Special Education meetings. Supervised by the Educational Program Director, the Student Services Coordinator would also assist in RTI support, coordination and monitoring of services delivered by the service providers as well as support IEPs as necessary. Certification in Wilson a plus. A minimum 3 years of Special Education work required.

Integrated Arts: Fitness Instructor

Mill Falls is seeking part-time Fitness Instructor as part of our Integrated Arts Team. Applicants must possess a high level of professionalism and creativity in their area of expertise and in their approach to the work with elementary students (grades 1-6) in this public Montessori school setting. Preference will be given to those with previous teaching/coaching experience.

Position Type: Part-time, 1 full school day per week
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Extensive knowledge in Fitness;
  • Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred;
  • Strong Group/Classroom Management skills;
  • Experience in Curriculum Development;
  • Comfort in working in a public Montessori environment;

Paraprofessionals

Position Overview: 
Mill Falls is seeking Paraprofessionals for the 2017/18 school year. The majority of assignments include assisting students with disabilities and assisting in self-care of students. Under general supervision, the Paraprofessional assists school teachers, program coordinators, and specialists in completing instructional and clerical duties and assignments involving students with mental, emotional, or multiple handicaps. The Paraprofessional performs instructional assignments with minimum supervision in comprehension and reinforcement skills, emotional, physical, developmental, language, reading, math, and related skills. The Paraprofessional assists in preparing and developing basic teaching materials, instructional aids, and other support materials.
Requirements:
Completion of two years of study (48 credits) at an institution of higher education or Associates Degree or higher.
Qualifications:

  • Experience with children and adolescents in an educational setting;
  • Must have ability to instruct students in mathematics, reading, science, social studies, art, and/or related subjects;
  • Must be able to physically manage students, kneel, sit on floor, lift up to 40 pounds, and provide personal care;
  • Must possess knowledge of educational and instructional techniques.

AfterCare Program Coordinator 

Mill Falls is seeking to hire an AfterCare Program Coordinator. Responsibilities include AfterCare Program planning, organizing, and the direction of all activities in our AfterCare programs, including arts and crafts, group games, and other creative activities. Duties also include direct supervision of students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth grade.

Position Type: The AfterCare Program Coordinator is an hourly position (most days will take place from 3pm to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday); schedule is based on the academic year.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, recreation, or related field;
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with children;
  • Understanding of program assessment techniques and tools;
  • Comfort in working in a public Montessori environment;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Appreciation for students with learning differences as well as for students from diverse family and socio-economic situations.
